Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin Wanderer of the Rift DLC Contents Revealed
Square Enix revealed a full trailer for the upcoming Wanderer, the Rift DLC expansion for Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origins. This trailer has a brief look at some of the new sections to be included, the plot beats, as well as the new gameplay feature introduced – Rift Labyrinths. This DLC follows the main storyline of Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin and the first DLC episode Trials of the Dragon King.
Square Enix previously revealed the release date for Wanderer of the Rift, as well as its central focus on Final Fantasy mainstay Gilgamesh. While he was first introduced in the fifth mainline game, he became a character that would appear in several later games. These recurring appearances would solidify him as the wandering sword collector in the FF-verse that fans know today. This DLC is no exception, where one of the players facing the Big Boss will be against Gilgamesh himself.
As shown in the Wanderer of the Rift trailer, Gilgamesh will fight Jack and his party with a missile with a variety of swords and spears they’ve gathered. Not only that, his presence summons the Rift Labyrinth, where players can take on a variety of randomly generated small dungeons. It also adds a new difficulty level known as Gilgamesh, which will not only raise the level of the enemies the player will fight but also give them the chance to obtain special equipment that is blessed.

This elevated difficulty level will introduce a new set of monsters that will appear exclusively in this mode, known as Chaotic Monsters. This is indicated by the crown, which will give the player a better prize. Wanderer of the Rift will also introduce a new job class for Stranger of Paradise, the Blue Mage. This allows Jack to learn and use enemy abilities by doing blue magic. Not only that, a new command ability will be introduced in the form of Dimension Bringer, where Jack can slow down enemies in his area of influence, and any damage done by him will be amplified by anyone who uses up each action ability. Wanderer of the Rift will also introduce a new Tonberry version, known as Tonberry Blacksmith. Another item included would be Monster Bells, which can be used to summon a monster to aid a player during battle. Players can enhance their relationship with these monsters by participating in special interactions, using items, and even feeding them. This DLC expansion can only be accessed with the purchase of the full Season Pass, which contains the first episode, as well as the upcoming third episode, Different Future.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origins is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The Wanderer of the Rift DLC will launch on October 26, 2022.
